What the warranty covers - How long the warranty is effective

OPTI-UPS warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period.
Within the guarantee time of 24 months and 24 months for the batteries, OPTI-UPS reserves itself to repair a defective reported device or to exchange for a "new" or "factory" repaired device.

What the warranty does not cover

Any product that on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed.
Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:

  1. Accident, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature, unauthorized product modification, or failure to follow instructions supplied with the product.

  2. Repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by OPTI-UPS.

  3. Damage to or loss of any programs, data or removable storage media.

  4. Software or data loss occurring during repair or replacement.

  5. Any damage of the product due to shipment.

  6. Improper removal or installation of the product.

  7. Causes external to the product, such as electric power fluctuations or failure.

  8. Use of supplies or parts not meeting OPTI-UPS specifications.

  9. Any other cause which does not relate to a product defect.

  10. An adverse operating environment.

  11. Being operated outside the limits of its electrical specifications, has been used in a manner contrary to the product's operating manual or other written instructions

How to get service - Which Service Types are available?

For all service types, first a completely filled out service/repair-sheet with correct failure description is to be sent at our service department.

  1. DOA (Defect on Arrival) / Pre-Exchange service A DOA registration has to result at the latest 30 days after purchase date!
    Within the first 12 months after purchase, as far as the hardware-defect can not be solved after consultation with our service, the advanced pre-exchange service is available. An exchange device will be sended within 48 hours. The defective reported device will be packed into the original packaging. A collection with UPS Pick-up Service is contained.

  1. Pick-Up & Return
    In the remaining guarantee time, the mistake has to be reported. As far as the hardware-failure can not be solved after consultation with our service, and an original packaging is available, a collection will arrange with UPS Pick-up Service. Within 3 work days, the repaired unit or an exchange unit is sent back.
